Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your Brave Veteran account and all associated data at any time. Follow the steps below to complete the process.

How to Delete Your Account

Open the Brave Veteran app
Launch the app on your iOS or Android device and sign in to your account if you are not already logged in.

Go to your Profile
Tap the Profile icon in the bottom navigation bar, or tap the menu icon (☰) in the top corner and select My Profile.

Open Settings
Tap the Settings gear icon (⚙) at the top right of your profile screen.

Select "Delete Account"
Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and tap Delete Account. This option is listed under the Account section.

Confirm the deletion
Read the confirmation prompt carefully. Type DELETE in the text field to confirm, then tap Permanently Delete My Account. This action cannot be undone.

Before deleting your account, please be aware of the following:
  • Your benefit match history, saved applications, and profile data will be permanently erased.
  • Any in-progress benefit applications linked to your account will be cancelled.
  • You will lose access to your personalized benefit dashboard immediately.
  • If you later wish to use Brave Veteran, you will need to create a new account from scratch.

What Happens to Your Data

  • Immediate deactivation — Your account is deactivated and you are signed out of all devices as soon as you confirm deletion.
  • Data purge within 30 days — All personal data (name, email, service record, DD-214 documents, SSN if provided) is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.
  • Server logs — Access and activity logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and fraud-prevention purposes, then deleted.
  • Legal requirements — In rare cases, we may be required by law to retain certain records for a defined period. Any such records are isolated and not used for any other purpose.
  • Anonymized data — Aggregate, anonymized analytics (with no link to your identity) may be retained to improve our benefit-matching accuracy.

Can't Access the App?

  • If you cannot access your account or the in-app deletion option, you can request account deletion by emailing us at privacy@braveveteran.com.
  • Include the email address associated with your account in your request.
  • We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 5 business days, with confirmation sent to your email.
