Terms of Service

Plain-language terms that govern your use of the Brave Veteran app and website. We aim to be fair — read them.

Effective date: January 1, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

  • By downloading, installing, or using the Brave Veteran app or website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").
  • If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
  • You must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. veteran, active duty servicemember, or immediate family member of a veteran to use the Service.

2. Description of Service

  • Benefit Matching — Brave Veteran provides informational tools to help veterans identify federal, state, and local benefits they may qualify for based on their service history.
  • No Legal or Financial Advice — The Service provides information only. Nothing on Brave Veteran constitutes legal, financial, medical, or benefits counseling advice. Always consult a qualified Veterans Service Organization (VSO) or licensed professional for advice specific to your situation.
  • Third-Party Services — Some features connect you to third-party providers (lenders, insurers, employers). We are not responsible for those providers' services, accuracy, or conduct.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You agree to notify us immediately at support@braveveteran.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we believe have been compromised.

4. Acceptable Use

  • You may not use the Service to submit false or fraudulent benefit claims or applications.
  • You may not attempt to access another user's account, reverse-engineer the app, or circumvent any security measures.
  • You may not use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to extract data from the Service.
  • You may not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any federal, state, or local law.
  • Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination and may be reported to appropriate authorities.

5. Intellectual Property

  • All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including text, graphics, logos, and software — are the exclusive property of Brave Veteran, Inc. and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
  • You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
  • You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any content from the Service without our express written permission.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • Benefit Information Accuracy — While we strive for accuracy, benefit eligibility rules change frequently. We cannot guarantee that benefit information in the app is current or complete. Always verify eligibility with the relevant agency or a VSO.
  • We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

7. Limitation of Liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Brave Veteran, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $50 if you have not paid).
  • Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations — in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Indemnification

  • You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Brave Veteran, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

9. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
  • Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in San Diego, California, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for violations of intellectual property rights.
  • You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit against Brave Veteran, Inc.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the effective date above and notify you by email if the changes are material. Your continued use of Brave Veteran after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
